OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Yezabantwana Week
Aluta Healthcare has been a consistent sponsor for the
'Yezabantwana Paediatric Week', which takes place
annually at the Charlotte Maxeke Gen Hospital and Chris Hani
Baragwanath Hospital. The hospitals are working at a minimum staff
compliment with lengthy operative lists. This results in a lot
babies having to wait for procedures to be performed on them. Then
the idea of such a program arose to ease the burden on not just the
children involved, but also their parents. A team of doctors
together with the paediatric H.O.D Prof. Peter Beale spear-headed
this initiative and take time out of their schedules to perform
these operations at no cost at all. The Yezabantwana week is 5days
long and takes place twice a year. In a week, the doctor can do
between 75-100 operations! This is remarkable work on their side
and our company contributes to this worthy cause by supplying the
hospital with the necessary products and consumables. We also
sponsor their lunch breaks for that week. We have been actively
involved with Yezabantwana Week from its first launch and we
continue to support them every step of the way.
